Bhubaneswar is called the temple town of Orissa. It is a religious centre for Hindus and Buddhists. Many of the temples in Bhubaneswar are situated in the old part of the city.
The Lingaraj temple is a magnificent temple in Bhubaneswar. It was built in either the 10th or 11th century. This temple is 55 metre high and has beautiful carvings all over. Only Hindus are allowed inside this temple, which is a masterpiece.
The Bindu Sarovar is situated near the Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar. This lake has a drop of water from every Holy River. The Khandagiri and Udaygiri is a place located 8 km form Bhubaneswar. Here, there are Jain caves which were built in the 2nd century BC.
The Queen’s cave is the largest and double storied cave in Khandagiri and Udaygiri.
