Bhuj, a major town in Kutch, is bright and beautiful. This town his surrounded by a wall and in the olden days, the gates of the walls were locked from dusk to dawn. The town has colourful alleys and small streets where wonderful ethnic Guajarati costumes are put up for sale. The city has walls within walls and old palaces with elaborately carved pavilions.

The Aina Mahal or Old Palace located in Bhuj is a gorgeous museum, built in the 18th century. It was the palace of Maharao Lakhpatji. It has a place with marble walls, which are covered with mirrors and ornaments. The floor has a platform which has a series of fountains.

The Bhartiya Sanskruti Drashan in Bhuj has a collection of artifacts and textiles. All this is found in village houses.
