The Rumtek Monastery is a very well-known and important Buddhist Monastery. It is just 1 km form Gangtok and is the seat of the Karmapa monk, who heads the Kagyupa Sect of Buddhism.
The Royal Chapel in Tsuklakhang is a place of gathering and worship for the Buddhists. It is popularly called the Tsulakhang Royal. Apart from these religious places, the Banjhakri Falls must not be missed by anyone visiting Gangtok, because they are lovely waterfalls. There are also cable cars in this city that can help you have a wonderful view of the city.
