The city of Hampi is a religious centre in the northern part of Karnataka. To its vicinity are the ruins of the ancient town of Vijayanagara, once the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. These ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Hampi Bazaar, Monolith Bull, Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Vithala Temple with stone chariots, Virupaksha Temple, Hemakuta Hill temples, Queen’s Bath, Zanana Enclosure, Elephant Stables, Achyut Raya Temple, Royal Enclosures, Statue of Ugra Narsimha, Mahanavni Dibba, Hazara Ram Temple, Big Shivlinga and the Stepped Bath are the must visit places in Hampi.

 

The Matanga Hill is where you can see the most beautiful sunset ever, surely not a miss! Since all these places are near the Hampi Bus Stand, they are easily accessible without any problem. Hampi is not just another tourist destination of Karnataka, but it is city that can enthrall you.
