The town of Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh is famous all over India because it is believed to have been founded by Hanuman, the monkey God when he was on his way to get the Sanjeevani herb. Here there is a Hanuman Mandir at the Manki Point atop a 300 meter hill where it is believed that Hanuman rested his foot.
There is a lot of natural serenity in Kasauli due to which it is flooded with tourists. The most crowded areas of Kasauli are the Upper and Lower malls which are the main markets. You can buy tour souvenirs here. The Lower Mall area also has good fast food centers and restaurants. The most perfect time to visit Kasauli is from April to June and September to November. Another reason why Kasauli is famous is because, popular Anglo Indian author Ruskin Bond was born here.
The Christ Church (in the town) and Lawrence School at Sanawar (6 kilometers away from town) have spectacular architecture.
