Mandi is a place in central Himachal Pradesh and is the gateway to reach Kullu Valley. The city has its heart in the Indira market area. There are eateries and lodges in this area. The temples in Mandi are situated along the riverside. The Bhutnath Mandir or temple was built in the 7th century A.D and even today hosts the animated festival of Mahashivratri honoring Lord Shiva in the month of February.

 

If you follow the Bhutnath Bazar it may you lead to bathing ghats with a giant statue of Hanuman, the monkey god. Other famous temples in Mandi are the Pancha Bahktar, Triloknath Mandir, Akardash Rudra Mandir. There is also a park perched on the top of the Tarna Hill called the Rani Amrit Kaur Park. It has superb views and a colorful Syamakali Temple decorated with paintings of Goddess Kaali.
