Nellore is a district in Andhra Pradesh mainly famous for its paddy fields. It lies in the south eastern part of Andhra Pradesh and is mainly a religious pilgrimage place. Around 526 kilometers away from the state capital, Nellore has rich cultural heritage like most of the cities in India.

Nellore can be called a ‘Temple city’ because there are many temples dotting this region. The Talapagiri Temple is around 600 years old. It has seven gold Kalasams. Other noteworthy temples are- Sri Mulasthaneswara Swamy Temple, Venugopala Swamy Temple, Ayyappa Swamy Temple, Mallikarjuna Kamakshi Tai Temple and the Narasimha Swamy Temple. There is also a bird sanctuary- Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary where a variety of birds can be seen. It is one of the largest Pelicanary in South East Asia as it has more than 1500 pelicans. Another major attraction is the Pulicat Lake. The scenic beauty is attracts tourists.

Nellore has a coastline of 165 kilometers; the Mypadu Beach is a quick resort to happiness. The Naidupeta and Somasila Dam are worth a watch.
