Srisailam is a sacred town, located in the Nallamala Hills of Kurnool District.

The Bhramarambha Mallikarjuna Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati and it is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples. The temple has 4 gateways in 4 directions and these directions are the tripuranthakam, siddhavatam, almapur and umamaheshwaram.

The Akka Mahadevi Caves are named after the famous philosopher, Akka Mahadevi. It is believed that Akka Mahadevi did penance in this cave and also worshipped the Shivalinga at the end of the cave. The Andhar Pradesh Tourism Department has arranged boats, so that the visitors can see these caves.

The Srisailam Dam was built on the river Krishna and is 512 metres long. Initially, the dam was built to generate hydropower, but later it was also used for irrigation and water supply.
